The anime "Magical★Explorer," based on a popular light novel from the novel submission site "Shosetsuka ni Naro," will air on television in the fall of 2026. Kazuki Ohashi, known for "Shadows House," will direct, and Ryosuke Kimiya, known for "Grimoire of Zero," will be in charge of character design. WHITE FOX, known for "STEINS;GATE" and "Re:Zero," will produce the animation. It was also announced that voice actor Nobunaga Shimazaki will play the main character, Kosuke Takine.
This work is a light novel written by Irisu and illustrated by Kannazuki Noboru. Set in the legendary bishoujo game "Magical★Explorer," Takine Kosuke is reincarnated as the unfortunate friend character beside the protagonist who possesses cheat skills. He uses his knowledge of the game from his previous life to help the heroines he admires achieve happy endings. The light novel is published by Sneaker Bunko (KADOKAWA) and has gained popularity with over 950,000 copies sold in the series.
Director Ohashi commented, "With this long-awaited anime adaptation, I hope you will enjoy the adventures of the unique protagonist, Kosuke Takine. With the cooperation of Mr. Irisu and Mr. Kannazuki, and working with WHITE FOX, we will do our best to challenge ourselves with various forms of expression.
