One day at mealtime, Heaven asks Toki to remove the small bones from the fish. It's been a while since they've done this, and both Toki and Heaven reminisce about the past. In the evening, Toki and Heaven sit on the veranda of their west-facing room and quietly talk while watching the beautiful sunset.
Heaven said, "The cherry blossoms that bloomed yesterday bloomed to say goodbye to me." Then she said to Toki, "I will not... cry, and I will never do that." Heaven said, "Excuse me, but I will rest now," and rested her head on Toki's shoulder. Toki could no longer hold back her tears, and a single tear rolled down Heaven's cheek.
The scene changes, and Heaven's grave and a small vial containing his ashes are shown. Shoda ( Shogo Hama) and Sawa (Wan Marui) arrive from Matsue. Shoda has brought Nishikiori's (Ryo Yoshizawa) hat as a memento and says, "Nishikiori is with us too." When Toki is alone with Sawa, she recalls how Heaven died, saying, "His last moments were so... quiet and sudden..." and bursts into tears in Sawa's arms.
