NHK's Asadora drama series "Kaze,Kaoru " (NHK General, Monday-Saturday 8:00 AM, etc.), starring Ai Mikami and Juri Kosaka , will begin airing on March 30th. This 114th Asadora is based on the story of two trained nurses (nurses formally trained in the Meiji era), Chika Ozeki and Masa Suzuki. Here, we introduce Naomi Oya, played by Juri Uesaka.
Naomi Oya is the protagonist of this story. Abandoned by her parents shortly after birth, she was raised by a Christian pastor. Having moved from church to church, she has no one she can call "family." For Naomi, the only things she can believe in are her own strength and luck. She doesn't care how much shame she might feel. Having lived a life where pride was of no use, she has the flexibility and shrewdness to not hesitate to tell a few lies or cheat to achieve her goals.
Uesaka, who plays the role of Naomi, was selected for the part from an audition that had 2,410 applicants. This is her first appearance in a Asadora.
"Kaze,Kaoru" depicts the story of two nurses who graduated from the same nursing school, struggling and clashing with each other as they grow, eventually becoming the "ultimate buddy" duo. The script is written by Tomoko Yoshizawa, who has worked on a wide range of genres from comedies and family dramas to medical dramas and period dramas. The theme song is "Kaze to Machi" by the three-member band "Mrs. Green Apple". The music is composed by Yuji Nomi, and the narration is provided by Naoko Ken, who also plays the role of Maji, a mysterious and elusive fortune teller.
