Former Takarazuka top star Aika Mire will appear on Tetsuko Kuroyanagi's long-running talk show "Tetsuko's Room" (TV Asahi), airing on March 24th at 1 PM.
She introduced a necklace given to her by her late mother, who said, "I want you to wear this if you ever appear on Tetsuko's Room." She also revealed a special photo of herself in a furisode kimono, taken because she admired Kuroyanagi. Originally from Kagoshima Prefecture, she spent her childhood surrounded by nature and was an active person, starting kendo in junior high school. She said that she decided to audition for Takarazuka in her third year of high school at her mother's urging, and shared a surprising story about her audition.
In 2008, she was diagnosed with malignant lymphoma during a stage performance, forcing her to withdraw and focus on treatment. Her battle with the disease was a period of deep sadness, but she was cheered up by a sports massage therapist who had supported her since her Takarazuka days, and she married him. She spoke about her life with her mother-in-law and beloved dog.
