The final episode (episode 9) of the drama series "Reunion ~Silent Truth~" (TV Asahi, Tuesdays at 9 PM), starring actor Ryoma Takeuchi, will air on March 17th. The preview for the episode shows text such as "The case was supposed to be solved--", "And then a shocking ending", "Goodbye, first love", and "Who will that truth save--".
The drama is an adaptation of the novel "Reunion" (Kodansha) by Dai Yokozeki, winner of the 56th Edogawa Rampo Prize (2010), starring Takeuchi. Four elementary school classmates share a "secret": they buried a gun used in a crime under a cherry tree. 23 years later, Junichi (Takeuchi), now a detective, reunites with Makiko Iwamoto (Mao Inoue), one of the four classmates and his first love, only to find her now a suspect in a new murder case. A poignant human love mystery that begins with a fateful reunion.
In the final episode, it may not be Junichi (Takeuchi) who shot and killed the bank robber. Minami Ryo (Noriko Eguchi), who examined the murder weapon entrusted to her by Makiko (Inoue), finally reaches the person she believes to be the real culprit after a tenacious investigation. All the crimes and secrets are revealed after 23 years. What future will Junichi, Makiko, Keisuke (Koji Seto), Naoto (Watanabe Daichi), and the other classmates who have carried various burdens, choose...?
