It has been announced that the all-new anime "Fist of the North Star," produced to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the popular 1980s manga "Fist of the North Star," will be broadcast on TOKYO MX and BS11 from 1:00 a.m. on April 10th. Episodes 1 and 2 will be broadcast first, followed by episodes 3 and 4 back-to-back on April 17th. The anime will be streamed worldwide exclusively on Prime Video.
The film stars Yuichi Nakamura as Rei, the successor of the Nanto Suicho Ken style, and Ruriko Aoki as Mamiya, a female warrior who bravely protects the villagers, with Koichi Yamadera providing the narration. It was also announced that the band [Alexandros] will perform the opening theme song "Hallelujah." Rei's character visual and the second promotional video featuring Rei and Mamiya have also been released.
"Fist of the North Star" is a manga written by Buronson and illustrated by Tetsuo Hara, which was serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha) from 1983 to 1988. Set in a post-nuclear war world ruled by violence in the year 199X, the story follows Kenshiro, the successor to the legendary Hokuto Shinken assassination fist, as he grows up and fights against powerful opponents, including his brother Raoh.
It was adapted into a TV anime in 1984, achieving a peak audience rating of 23.4%. It became a social hit with famous lines such as "You're already dead." It also spawned an anime film and an original video animation (OVA). It was also made into a musical, which became a hot topic. The comics have sold over 100 million copies in total.
It has been announced that the new anime will feature Shunsuke Takeuchi as Kenshiro, Daiki Yamashita as Bat, M.A.O as Lin, Koji Yusa as Shin, Saori Hayami as Toki, and Daisuke Kusunoki as Raoh.
