It has been announced that the second season of the TV anime "Aoashi," based on the soccer manga by Yugo Kobayashi serialized in "Weekly Big Comic Spirits" (Shogakukan), "Aoashi Season 2," will begin airing on NHK Educational TV from October 4th. The second season will depict the "A Team Arc." A teaser visual has been released, depicting the protagonist, Aoi Ashito, who has been promoted to the A Team, standing powerfully on top of a soccer notebook that evokes the image of "thinking soccer." The visual builds anticipation for the second season, as viewers wonder how Asito's evolution and challenges will shine on the new stage of the A Team.
A teaser PV has also been released on YouTube, showing Asito and his friends stepping into a new world with determined expressions on their faces, along with the upperclassmen from Team A.
Osuzu Koki, who plays Asito, said, "Hello everyone. I'm Osuzu Koki, who plays Aoi Ashito. The TV anime "Aoashi Season 2" will begin airing in October! After about four years since "Season 1," I'm truly happy to be able to greet you again as Asito. I owe it all to the original author, Kobayashi Yugo, the production team who support the series, and everyone who cheers me on. I'm putting all my heart and soul into the recording, putting all of the experience and thoughts I've cultivated up until now into it, so that I don't get left behind by Asito, who has advanced to Team A. Please look forward to the broadcast!"
Director Yokoyama Kazuki said, "I was actually involved in 'Season 1' and have now been given the baton. 2026 is the year of the World Cup, so I would like to further promote ' Aoashi' along with the soccer fever. In addition to the staff who will continue to be involved from 'Season 1', we have gathered new, powerful staff for 'Season 2' and we are all working hard with all our heart and soul!"
Original author Kobayashi commented, "The TV anime ' Aoashi Season 2' is about to begin. Four years have passed since 'Season 1', and I'm sure there are many fans who had given up. Despite all that, the efforts of those who aimed to deliver a wonderfully complete series to everyone have made 'Season 2' a reality. I would like to once again express my gratitude to those people and to everyone who has been waiting. In three months, Japan will be dominated by the World Cup. I believe this work will greatly increase soccer fever. I hope 2026 will be a wonderful year for ' Aoashi' and Japanese soccer!"
A stage event will be held at the Shogakukan Shueisha Productions booth at AnimeJapan 2026, which will be held at Tokyo Big Sight (Koto Ward, Tokyo) on March 29th. Osuzu, who plays Aoi Ashito, Kawase Maki, who plays Maki Kawase Hana, and Kobayashi Chikahiro, who plays Fukuda Tatsuya, will be appearing on stage.
