Actor Ryotaro Sakaguchi made his first appearance on Tetsuko Kuroyanagi's long-running talk show "Tetsuko's Room" (TV Asahi), which aired on February 12th. Known as a "quirky actor," Sakaguchi talked about the origins of his trademark bob haircut.
On this day, Sakaguchi appeared in a unique outfit with a hairstyle themed on "flowers blooming from onions." She charmingly greeted the audience, saying, "Today I have the opportunity to meet Tetsuko-san, so I've come dressed in 'Tetsuko-san respect hair, makeup, and fashion'!"
Regarding her trademark bob hairstyle, Sakaguchi reflected, "It wasn't something I wanted to do..." At the time, she was working part-time at an izakaya (Japanese pub), and was told, "Your hair shouldn't get over your ears," so she decided to cut it.
"(When they were cutting my hair) I said, 'Please only expose my ears,' and for some reason it was cut in a bob, so when I looked in the mirror I was surprised. I thought, 'What? It's a bob... It's like there's a big mushroom in front of me!' but when I looked more closely I realized it really suited me (laughs)," she recalled.
She says that after she cut her hair in a bob, she started passing auditions.
