A "confrontation visual" for the film "Black Prison" (directed by Kiyoshi Kurosawa, opening June 19), starring actor Masahiro Motoki , was released on June 17. The film is also generating buzz because Masaki Suda , who played Hanbei Takenaka in the NHK Taiga drama " BROTHERS IN ARMS (Toyotomi Brothers!) ", appears as the imprisoned genius strategist Kanbei Kuroda. The visual shows Suda and Motoki, who plays the isolated and helpless castle lord Murashige Araki, facing each other at "extremely close range" against the backdrop of a dimly lit dungeon.
"Kurorojo" is based on the masterpiece mystery novel by Honobu Yonezawa, and is set in Arioka Castle during the Sengoku period. Araki Murashige (played by Motoki) rebels against the tyrannical methods of Oda Nobunaga and decides to hold out in the castle, but strange incidents begin to occur one after another. The suspects are one of his retainers or family members who are trapped inside the castle, which has become a locked room... As everyone becomes suspicious of each other, Murashige teams up with Kuroda Kanbei (played by Sugada), a dangerous genius strategist imprisoned in jail, to try and solve the case...
A special video has also been released. Beginning with the locked-room murder of a young boy, Murashige pursues the mystery of the "strange incidents" that unfold within the castle, accelerating his descent into confusion, conflict, and madness. He engages in a thrilling "battle of wits" with Kanbei, the enemy's genius strategist who has been imprisoned in the dungeon by Murashige.
