31 years ago, Mogi was threatened by Sadao (Hidekazu Nagae) and Detective Sasaoka (Yurei Yanagi) and murdered the brothers' parents... Minoru was deeply shocked to learn of Mogi's betrayal, as he had always believed him to be on his side.
Minoru revealed that Mogi had supported him when he stopped going to school after his parents' incident. "I just can't do it. I just can't bring myself to hate Mogi. I don't think I can face my dad and mom," he confessed.
Tears welled up in Makoto's eyes as he listened to Minoru's story. "I have no intention of forgiving Mocchan. What he did hasn't changed, and he's been deceiving us all this time. But... Mocchan is on our side."
On social media, comments such as "I burst into tears when they said 'Mocchan is on our side'," "I cried when Minoru complained that he couldn't hate her, and when they said, 'But Mocchan is on our side'," "I can't hate Mocchan either. He loved them both so much," "Even if my theory is wrong, I hope Mocchan isn't the culprit," and "Minoru's expression after saying 'Mocchan is on our side' showed that he was relieved that they felt the same way, and it brought tears to my eyes" spread.
