A special video celebrating the 10th anniversary of the anime adaptation of Kohei Horikoshi's manga "My Hero Academia," which was serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha), titled "[My Hero Academia The Animation 10th Anniversary] PLUS ULTRA MOVIE 'You Can Become a Hero'," has been released on YouTube.
On June 16, 2018, episode 49 of the third season of the TV anime, "One For All," which featured a clash between All Might and All For One, was broadcast. Since then, June 16th has been designated "Hero Day," and various events have been held on this day every year. As part of the Hero Day project for the 10th anniversary, a special video has been released.
The video's concept begins with the protagonist, Izuku Midoriya (Deku), seeing All Might, the "Symbol of Peace," as a child, and follows his journey, encouraged by All Might words, "You can become a hero." Deku's journey is depicted to the tune of the film's signature song, "You Say Run." Staff members, including Yoshihiko Umakoshi, who has worked on the original drawings, character designs, and key visuals, have come together to breathe new life into the story.
"My Hero Academia" was serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" from July 2014 to August 2024. It is set in a world where approximately 80% of the population possesses superpowers called Quirks, and depicts the story of Izuku Midoriya, also known as Deku, as he strives to become the greatest hero. The manga has sold over 100 million copies worldwide.
The first season of the TV anime aired from April to June 2016, the second season from March to September 2017, the third season from April to September 2018, the fourth season from October 2019 to April 2020, the fifth season from March to September 2021, the sixth season from October 2022 to March 2023, and the seventh season from May to October 2024. The final chapter, "FINAL SEASON," aired from October to December 2025.
