It has been announced that a "reproduced mini voice-over script" will be distributed starting June 12th as a special gift for third-week attendees of "Mononoke: The Movie Chapter 3 - Serpent Mononoke," the third and final chapter of the completely new theatrical film trilogy based on the popular TV anime "Mononoke ." The eight-page script-style booklet contains the script for some scenes from the main film, allowing viewers to rediscover the charm of the work from a unique perspective, including the distinctive and memorable stage directions and the interactions between the characters. By scanning the QR code on the back of the booklet, viewers can enjoy AR content that allows them to take photos with the scales, the demon-slaying tool of the protagonist, the Medicine Seller.
"Mononoke: The Movie" is set in the Ooku (women's quarters of Edo Castle), a place swirling with the passions of women, and follows a medicine seller as he tries to uncover the true identity of the "Mononoke." The first chapter, "Karakasa," was released in July 2024, the second chapter, "Hinezumi," in March 2025, and the third chapter, "Hebigami," was released on May 29th.
"Mononoke" is an anime produced by the same staff who worked on the popular episode "Bakeneko" from "Ayakashi," which aired on Fuji TV's Noitamina anime block in 2006. It aired on Noitamina in 2007. The story depicts a supernatural tale in which the medicine seller who appeared in "Bakeneko" confronts a Mononoke.
