The 51st episode of the NHK Asadora drama series "Kaze,Kaoru " (NHK General, Monday-Saturday 8:00 AM, etc.), starring Ai Mikami and Juri Kosaka , aired on June 8th. In this episode, viewers' attention was drawn to the despairing courtesan, Yunagi (Honoka Murakami).
Yunagi tells Naomi (Uesaka), who is diligently nursing her, "The only time I've been treated this kindly was when I was living in my hometown." When Naomi asks for her name so that it can be recorded in the hospital's paperwork, Yunagi reveals her real name, "Setsu, Uozumi Setsu."
Rin (Mikami) visits the newspaper company that published an article about the anti-prostitution movement. The editor-in-chief, Watanuki (Komatsu Kazushige), tells her that very few prostitutes have ever been able to quit their jobs on their own accord. Watanuki suggests that Yuunagi join the movement, but Rin asks, "Are you saying I should be a human sacrifice?" expressing her concern that Yuunagi would be put in a difficult situation.
Meanwhile, an article was published in the newspaper. In the article, Yuunagi's name was changed to Yuugao, but anyone who read it would immediately recognize it as Yuunagi. Rin went to see Usaburo (played by Bandō Yajūrō) at Mizuho-ya to ask if he had asked the newspaper to write about Setsu.
Shimaken (played by Masaya Sano) was also there and confessed that he was the one who wrote the article. Rin was confused as to why he would do such a thing, but Shimaken said that he deliberately wrote it in a way that would make it obvious that it was Yuunagi. He then said, "Newspapers... words have power. If the world finds out about Yuunagi, then surely..." But Rin retorted, "Yuunagi might end up in a much worse situation," and angrily stormed out of the store.
Yunagi was also aware of the article Shimaken had written, and said with a hint of despair, "There are kind people in this world who go out of their way to tell you about the worst things... He even read it carefully. A story about a prostitute committing suicide... Poor prostitute... Even if she survived, this Yugao person is now in a situation where she can neither move forward nor backward."
On social media, comments included: "It's too painful," "Yunagi's eyes are filled with despair...", "Going back is hell, running away is hell, even raising her voice is hell...", "How can we save Yunagi?", "I hope things turn out well for Yunagi...", and "All we can do is hope that the situation improves."
