It has been revealed that the title of the third season of the TV anime "Blue Lock," based on the soccer manga currently serialized in "Weekly Shonen Magazine" (Kodansha), will be "Blue Lock Neo Egoist League." A super teaser visual featuring the protagonist Yoichi Isagi and Michael Kaiser, the ace forward of the U-20 team of Germany's strongest club team, "Bastard Munich," has been released.
Voice actor Kazuki Ura, who plays Isagi Yoichi, said, "At the same time that we started recording the first episode of the TV anime ' Blue Lock ,' the Neo Egoist League began in the magazine. I remember as if it were yesterday how, with each turn of the page, I felt both the excitement of wanting to play Isagi one day and the pressure of wondering if I could really pull it off, both raging inside me. To commemorate " Blue Lock Day" on June Getsuku , a " Blue Lock Day Special Movie" has been released on YouTube. This special video is an "egoistic" one that transcends all boundaries, including the original manga, TV anime, live-action film, and stage play.
"Blue Lock" has been serialized in "Weekly Shonen Magazine" since 2018. The story begins with a nationwide project called Blue Lock(Blue Prison) to create an "absolute ace striker" who will lead Japan to victory in the Soccer World Cup, and 300 high school students are gathered to compete. The innovative setting of a battle royale where 300 strikers fight for survival, and the unique characters have made it popular. The comics have sold over 60 million copies worldwide.
The first season of the TV anime aired from October 2022 to March 2023. The theatrical anime film "Blue Lock: Episode Nagi", based on the spin-off "Blue Lock: Episode Nagi", was released in April 2024 and was a hit, grossing 1.8 billion yen and attracting over 1.32 million viewers. The second season of the TV anime aired on TV Asahi's anime block "IMAnimation" from October to December 2024.
