It was announced on May 31st that "TV Tokyo Music Festival 2026 Summer," a music program hosted by Tatsuya Fukazawa of the popular group "Snow Man" and actress Wakana Matsumoto, will be broadcast live for approximately four and a half hours starting at 6:30 PM on June 28th. This will be the first time the two have teamed up as MCs for a music program, and also their first time hosting a program on TV Tokyo. TV Tokyo announcer Hitomi Tanaka will be in charge of the program's progression. Part of the program will be pre-recorded.
"TV Tokyo Music Festival" is now in its 16th year since its launch in 2014. While it has previously aired on Wednesdays, this year it will be broadcast on a Sunday for the first time. The performing artists will be announced at a later date.
◇Comment from Tatsuya Fukazawa
--You'll be co-hosting the TV Tokyo Music Festival with Wakana Matsumoto. What were your thoughts when you heard about it?
When I first heard about it, I was honestly surprised. The "TV Tokyo Music Festival" has a long history, and it's a great honor and I'm very grateful, but at first I couldn't believe it, wondering, "Am I really good enough?" However, I thought that being the MC would be a very valuable experience for me and would surely be a turning point, so I accepted the offer.
I never imagined that Wakana Matsumoto would be sitting next to me, but we've worked together on a drama before, and we kind of know each other's personalities and atmospheres, so I think it's going to be very easy to work with her. Anyway, since I'm in charge, I want to make this a great "TV Tokyo Music Festival," so it really feels like a "competition."
-- Your enthusiasm and message to the viewers
I've never experienced a 4.5-hour live broadcast before, so I think I'll be very nervous, but I hope that the powerful singing voices of the artists who will be appearing will energize the viewers, so I will do my best to support them, and I might even end up being supported by the artists themselves, but I will do my utmost.

--You'll be co-hosting the TV Tokyo Music Festival with Tatsuya Fukazawa. What were your thoughts when you heard about it?
Fukazawa-san is usually cheerful and friendly, and I've seen her use that personality to her advantage in variety shows, running programs smoothly as an MC on numerous occasions, so I felt very reassured when I spoke with her.
I am delighted to be partnered with Mr. Fukazawa, and I hope that we can share the wonderfulness of music with as many people as possible.

I am delighted to announce that I will be serving as the MC for the TV Tokyo Music Festival, which has been running for 12 years.
Although I'm in the role of MC, as a music fan myself, I hope to enjoy working with wonderful artists and share the power of music with everyone.
