The 45th episode of the NHK Asadora drama series "Kaze,Kaoru " (NHK General, Monday-Saturday 8:00 AM, etc.), starring Ai Mikami and Juri Kosaka , aired on May 29th, and viewers were particularly drawn to the performance of Tsubaki Nekozawa, who plays the nurse Fuyu.
In episode 44 (aired May 28th), Rin asks Fuyu to teach her how to assist in surgery, but Fuyu continues to refuse. Rin and Naomi begin visiting Fuyu's house to care for Fuyu's husband, Kosuke (Jiro), who has a leg injury. Rin and Naomi notice that Kosuke hasn't been drinking water during the day and tell Fuyu that "it's probably so he doesn't have to go to the bathroom."
In that day's episode, when Fuyu returns home, she says to Kosuke, "Shall we go to the restroom? From now on, I'll take you as soon as I get home." Kosuke replies, "Thank you," and begins, "Those girls (Rin and Naomi) said they want you to teach them nursing. Someone like me..." but quickly corrects himself, "Oh, I shouldn't say 'someone like me'." When Fuyu smiles involuntarily, Kosuke mutters, "It's been a while since I've seen that."
Then, he said, "Fuyu, I don't understand it, but your job isn't 'something'," and Fuyu was overcome with emotion, holding back tears. Kosuke offered Fuyu a piece of candy, and after eating it, Fuyu smiled and said, "It's sweet."
Moved by Kosuke's words, Fuyu tells Rin and Naomi, "That's why I don't want to work long hours in a hospital like this. I don't want to get any more tired. It's okay, you can teach me." When Rin asks in surprise, "So you'll teach me how to assist in surgery?", Fuyu replies, "Because I realized it would make things easier for me." Then she adds, "Ame was happy. My husband was. Thank you."
