The TV anime "Historie," based on the manga by Hitoshi Iwaaki , known for works such as " Parasyte ," will begin airing in January 2027. The cast has been announced, with Nobunaga Shimazaki playing Eumenes, who later becomes Alexander the Great's scribe. In addition to Ryota Suzuki as Eumenes' brother Hieronymus, Kazuya Ichijo as his father Hieronymus, and Yuko Kaida as his mother Teresilla, the cast also includes Wataru Takagi as Charon, Satoshi Tsuruoka as Hecataeus, Anri Katsu as Thrax, Tsuguo Mogami as Aristotle, Miki Kariya as Periala, Junya Enoki as Tolmides.
The second teaser visual, featuring Eumenes holding a map and depicting key motifs of the story, and the first promotional video, featuring characters related to Eumenes' childhood, have been released.
"Historie" is a manga series that has been serialized in "Afternoon" (Kodansha) since 2003. It is a historical epic set in the pre-Christian era, depicting the turbulent life of Eumenes, who would later become Alexander the Great's scribe. The cumulative circulation of the comic books has exceeded 4.7 million copies. Liden Films is producing the anime adaptation.

I am truly happy and honored to be able to voice Eumenes in "Historie." I usually try not to think too much about such things because the disappointment would be great if I wasn't chosen, but with Eumenes, I felt strongly that I wanted to play the role ever since I read the original work. I am also truly honored to be involved in a work by Hitoshi Iwaaki Iwaaki. It is definitely a great work, so I hope everyone will enjoy it.

◇Kazuya Ichijo, who plays the role of Father Hieronymus
I've played father roles many times, but I think it's rare to play a character who embodies both strictness and kindness so perfectly. He's the pillar of the family and a strict father... but I kept leaning towards softer acting in the family gathering scenes, which resulted in retakes. Also, the scene where I had to call his name was one I had to practice every time. Hieronymus... what a difficult name to pronounce!
◇Yuko Kaida, who plays the role of Teresira
I was captivated by this substantial work, reflecting on the long and rich history of the pre-Christian era. Teresira lovingly raised Eumenes despite her complex emotions. I hope to express her internal conflict well.
◇ Wataru Takagi, who plays the role of Charon
Charon has a deep connection with Eumenes. It was fun to portray his complex feelings—a sense of self-reproach while also supporting him—through my interactions with Nobunaga-kun. I wonder how it will come across to everyone. I hope you enjoy it.
◇Satoshi Tsuruoka, who plays the role of Hecataeus
There was a world there that I couldn't understand with the knowledge I'd learned in history class. I was finally able to feel the raw atmosphere through the characters living in the original work. I hope you'll experience it for yourself.
◇ Anri Katsu, who plays the role of Thrax
I've always loved Mr. Iwaaki's works, so I was thrilled to hear about this opportunity. This work is a historical piece, but I was really drawn to the profound humanity depicted within it. I was also very attracted to Thrax, the character I'm playing, because of his almost cruel purity. I hope everyone will fully enjoy the world of this work.
◇Tsuguo Mogami, who plays Aristotle
Originally, my image of Aristotle was that of a philosopher! But in this work, I got the impression that he was more of an astronomer and physicist, truly the father of all sciences, a person who loved knowledge. I myself am a big fan of "Historie," so I'm very happy to be a part of it!
◇Miki Kariya, who plays the role of Periala
The character I played, Periala, experiences a rollercoaster of emotions in her relationship with Eumenes, and I did my best to empathize with her fluctuating feelings. I hope you will enjoy the story while paying attention to how Periala's feelings change.
◇Seiyu Fujiwara, who plays the role of Nicogenes
When Eumenes is with Nicogenes and the others, he seems a little more like an ordinary boy than his usual detached self, so I approached the recording with the hope of portraying Nicogenes as a comfortable presence for Eumenes.
◇ Junya Enoki, who plays the role of Tormides
I originally read the original novel because I liked it, but I felt that this work is amazing because it conveys the characters' psychology so powerfully without over-depicting it.
