The TV anime "Though I Am an Inept Villainess," based on the popular light novel by Satsuki Nakamura, will begin airing on TV Tokyo and its affiliates on July 12th at 11:45 PM. A key visual has also been released featuring characters such as Reirin and Keigetsu, who end up switching bodies, as well as Yaomei, Tatsuyu, Lili, Kiyoka, Yoshiharu, and Utabuki.
「Though I Am an Inept Villainess」は、聡明で美しく誰からも愛されていて“殿下の胡蝶”と呼ばれている黄玲琳、劣等感が強く、卑劣な言動から悪女と呼ばれ皆から嫌われている朱慧月という正反対の少女二人が入れ替わってしまう……という後宮“入れ替わり”逆転劇。
The original work is a light novel published by Ichijinsha Novels (Ichijinsha), and a manga adaptation is currently being serialized in "Monthly Comic ZERO-SUM" (also published by Ichijinsha). It has gained popularity, winning the "Cmoa Everyone's Choice 2023 Electronic Comic Award" in the light novel category and being selected as No. 1 in the "BookLive Annual Ranking 2023" for female-oriented light novels. The series has sold over 4 million copies in total.
The anime will be directed by Mitsue Yamazaki and produced by Doga Kobo. The voice cast will include Manaka Iwami as Huang Linglin and Natsumi Kawaida as Zhu Huiyue.
