A poster visual has been released for "Ultraman Teo," the new TV series in the tokusatsu drama "Ultraman." The visual features the main character, Ibuki Mitsuishi, who transforms into Ultraman Teo, and other characters, accompanied by the tagline, "I don't want to fight...but I want to protect everyone!" A promotional video using footage from the series has also been released on YouTube.
Additional cast members have been announced, including Makita Sports as Junpei Minobe, a professor at Meishin University's veterinary medicine department where Ibuki attends, and Rila Fukushima as Kyoko Shiga, a giant monster investigator dispatched by the secret organization UTTF.
Makita Sports commented, "Congratulations on the 60th anniversary of the Ultraman series. I was asked to participate in this momentous project, and I never imagined that I would end up playing Ultraman, but that didn't happen after all. Once again, I am Makita Sports, playing the role of Junpei Minobe. The production team approached this project with a new challenge in mind, and I remember approaching the filming in a way that resonated with that. I feel honored to be a part of the Ultraman image that resides in everyone's hearts and to become a part of its history."
Fukushima said, "I am deeply honored to be able to participate in 'Ultraman Teo.' I feel a great sense of responsibility to be able to join the world of Ultraman, which has been loved by so many people for many years, and to be able to play a part in the history of special effects, a culture that Japan can be proud of. I believe it is a work that can be enjoyed by people of all generations, full of energy and hope. I am looking forward to the day when we can deliver it to everyone."
"Ultraman Teo" is a 60th-anniversary commemorative work for the "Ultraman" series. A lonely alien whose home planet was destroyed washes ashore on Earth, and in the form of a college student named Ibuki Mitsuishi, he interacts with various forms of life on Earth. To protect the lives before him that cannot withstand the threat of approaching monsters, he transforms into the blue giant, even though he doesn't really want to fight, and grows into an unwavering Ultraman together with his companions.
Takashi Ninomiya, making his first appearance in a Tsuburaya Productions project, will serve as the main director, while Shigenori Tanabe, also making his debut, will handle series composition and scriptwriting. Takanori Tsujimoto , who served as the main director for " Ultraman Arc ," will participate as the main special effects director. Actor Aoi Iwasaki will play the main character, Ibuki Mitsuishi. The series will air on TV Tokyo and its affiliates every Saturday at 9:00 AM, starting July 4th.
