A three-shot photo of Shizuka Ishibashi , Ryoko Kuninaka, and Atsuro Watabe , who will appear in the NHK Asadora drama series "Blossom " in the second half of 2026, starring Ishibashi, has been released.
" Blossom" is a story modeled after Chiyo Uno, a writer who lived through the Meiji, Taisho, and Showa eras and constantly sought freedom. The protagonist, Tama Hano (played by Ishibashi), leaves her hometown of Iwakuni, Yamaguchi, and, through encounters with fascinating people, pursues her dreams and pushes forward into the turbulent times of the Taisho and Showa eras.
Kuninaka plays Tama's stepmother, Hano Ryo. She is Seiji's second wife, who came to live with young Tama after her biological mother died. She gives birth to Tama's younger brother and sister and devotedly supports the family. Watanabe plays Tama's father, Hano Seiji. Despite being the eldest son of the Hano Sake Brewery, one of Iwakuni's leading sake breweries, he lives without inheriting the family business. He is strict in disciplining his family, especially his daughter Tama.
Shunpei Murayama, the production supervisor, commented on the filming, saying, "Filming is progressing smoothly in the Kansai area. Leading the team alongside lead actress Shizuka Ishibashi is Ran Murakami, who plays the young Tama, the main character. The two are good friends, and what they have in common above all else is the power in their eyes! The determined eyes that pierce both Tamas have naturally given strength to the staff and fellow actors on set."
