The preview for the final episode (episode 8) of the NHK BS historical drama series, "Fuka Koshiba Akinaiseiden Kin to Gin 3" (NHK BS Premium 4K, Sundays at 6:45 PM), which will air on May 24th, shows the words "The final formidable enemy," "Love and hate," and "Man and woman," and also includes a scene where Shohachi (played by Takehiro Murata) tells viewers, "Masugoya-san... has been arrested."

"Akinaiseiden Kin to Gin" is a series set in the mid-Edo period that vividly and cheerfully depicts the lives of ordinary people who succeed in business through hard work and ingenuity, interwoven with a variety of customs and traditions. Season 1 aired in 2023, and Season 2 aired in 2025.
Season 3 will once again feature Sachiko (played by Koshiba), the seventh-generation owner of Gosuzuya, a kimono and fabric store that opened in Tawaramachi, Asakusa, Edo. As Sachiko's struggle to protect Gosuzuya reaches its climax, she will also arrive at a realization of something irreplaceable.
In the final episode, two shops, Gosuzuya Gofukumachi Store and Kikuei General Store, opened in Gofukumachi in April of Meiwa 3 (1766). A year and a half after opening, both shops were thriving. In the middle of December of that year, trouble suddenly struck. Gofukumachi Store had another owner, and the town headman demanded that the shop be vacated. The deed of ownership exchanged between Sachi and Kikuei (Aki Asakura) was a fake, and the two had been victims of real estate fraud.
And the rightful owner who comes forward turns out to be none other than Souji (played by Shigeaki Kato)... and that's how the story unfolds.
