The sixth episode of the drama series "Borderless: Wide-Area Mobile Investigation Unit" (TV Asahi, Wednesdays at 9pm), starring actress Tao Tsuchiya and Shori Sato of the popular group "timelesz," aired on May 20th, and it has been revealed that the average viewership rating (according to Video Research, Kanto region) was 6.1% for households and 3.4% for individuals.
This new police drama will air in TV Asahi's traditional "Wednesday 9pm" time slot, which has produced shows like "Aibou," "Tokuso9," and "Keiji 7-nin." It is a completely original work with a script by Ryoichi Kimizuka, who also wrote the "Odoru Daisousasen" and "Kyojo" series (both on Fuji TV). The story follows the exploits of seven detectives with troubled pasts in a mobile investigation unit, a "speeding investigation headquarters in a truck" that the National Police Agency has decided to operate on a trial basis.
Tsuchiya plays Momoko Nakazawa, a female detective who usually appears unmotivated at work but is actually passionate, while Sato plays Tsubomi Kizawa, a bright and positive young detective. The cast also includes Eiji Yokota, Kotaro Tanaka, Yuuka, Yoshihiko Inohara, and Kinya Kitaoji.
Episode 6 involved a collapse at an elementary school. The mobile investigation unit was dispatched to provide support in the rescue. However, a young 26-year-old district mayor appeared and disrupted the rescue efforts with his performance-oriented approach. The story revolved around the looming time limit for saving lives.
