Voice actress Wakana Yamazaki, known for her role as Ran Mouri in the popular anime "Detective Conan," passed away on April 18th at the age of 61.
Yamazaki was known for her roles as Ran Mouri in "Detective Conan" and as Akko (the third generation) in "Himitsu no Akko-chan," as well as providing narration for shows like "Sunday Japon" (TBS) and "Tokudane!" (Fuji TV).
On February 16th of this year, Yamazaki announced on the official "Detective Conan" website that she would be taking a break from her activities due to poor health. In the "Detective Conan" TV anime series, Akemi Okamura took over Yamazaki's role from the episode aired on March 14th. Yamazaki's recording for the latest theatrical film, "Detective Conan: Fallen Angel on the Highway," which was released on April 10th, had already been completed, and she appeared as planned.
