"Akinaiseiden Kin to Gin" is a series set in the mid-Edo period that vividly and cheerfully depicts the lives of ordinary people who succeed in business through hard work and ingenuity, interwoven with a variety of customs and traditions. Season 1 aired in 2023, and Season 2 aired in 2025.
Season 3 will once again feature Sachiko (played by Koshiba), the seventh-generation owner of Gosuzuya, a kimono and fabric store that opened in Tawaramachi, Asakusa, Edo. As Sachiko's struggle to protect Gosuzuya reaches its climax, she will also arrive at a realization of something irreplaceable.
In the seventh episode, Gosuzuya makes a name for itself by handling the wedding gifts of a hatamoto (a direct retainer of the shogun), and its clientele of samurai families increases, but its long-time regular customers stop coming.
Meanwhile, Kikue (Aki Asakura) was developing new products while searching for a store to open her own business. One day, Kikue is shown a good property in Gofukumachi, but she is hesitant to buy it because the store is too big. Hearing Kikue's dilemma, Sachi makes a suggestion. At the same time, Sachi happens to come across Souji (Shigeaki Kato) and the Masugoya couple having a friendly conversation... and the story unfolds from there.
