The closure of Wakasa Fisheries High School, which has been consistently under-enrolled, has become a foregone conclusion, and a briefing on the reorganization plan was held in the school gymnasium. Masaki Kurose (played by Yoshiyoshi Arakawa), a teacher at Wakasa Fisheries High School, appealed for a reconsideration of the closure, citing the students' enthusiasm for their practical training, but the response from the prefectural board of education official was not favorable.
At the briefing, fisherman Momose (played by Kenta Satoi) expressed his opposition, saying, "I don't think adults have the right to dismiss children's dreams based solely on numbers." Terao's father, Shigenobu (played by Takaya Sakoda), also questioned, "My son is a graduate of this school. This school helped him find his dreams. Are you going to take away those dreams?" Many residents raised their voices in opposition.
Terao, who had been listening intently to Shigenobu and the others, stood up as if he had made up his mind and shouted, "The dream is..." and "The dream is not over yet!" speaking on behalf of the alumni and current students who have been involved in realizing space food.
Social media was buzzing with comments like, "Terao is so cool!", "It was so touching to see the townspeople, the students' parents, current students, alumni, and teachers all working together to protect Wakamizu!", "It was so good to see Terao's change of heart through his eyes and expressions, even though the adults were against it!", and "It was such a wonderful scene, I'm crying."
Furthermore, Kurosaki, who also delivered a stunning performance in the Netflix series "Kujo's Great Sin," received applause on social media with comments such as, "That actor who appeared in Kujo's Great Sin is also giving a really passionate performance!" and "Kodai Kurosaki Kouyo is so good!"
The drama is an original coming-of-age story based on the true story of students at a fisheries high school in Fukui Prefecture who challenged themselves to achieve their big dream of "developing space food."
