This week's new releases feature information on newly published manga. Approximately 280 titles will be released between May 18th and 23rd. Volume 79 of Yasuhisa Hara's popular manga "Kingdom," which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, will be released. As part of the 20th-anniversary celebration, starting on May 19th, the release date of volume 79, "Kingdom BOX," which contains the manga chapter by chapter in a specially designed box, will be released for four consecutive months.
On May 18th, several manga volumes will be released, including volume 8 of "Utsuranai desu," which has the theme of "horror x coming-of-age drama," volume 4 of Kazuhiro Fujita's "Silver Mountain," volume 4 of Kazuhiko Shimamoto's "Vampire Idol Tamaki," volume 32 of "Sleepy Princess in the Demon Castle," which has been adapted into a TV anime, and volume 26 of "Ryu to Ichigo," a shogi manga by Mitsuharu Yanagimoto, known for "Hibiki: How to Become a Novelist."
On May 19th, new releases include volume 79 of "Kingdom," "Kingdom BOX Set 1: The Recapture of the Royal Capital - Battle of Hebikan Plain," volume 25 of "Draft King," whose sequel to the TV drama series has just started airing, volume 8 of "Dog Sled" by Satoru Noda, known for "Golden Kamuy," and volume 16 of "Akebi-chan's Sailor Suit," which also gained popularity as a TV anime.
On May 20th, several manga volumes will be released, including volume 12 of "Yanineko," which is also generating buzz for its upcoming TV anime adaptation; volume 25 of "Mobuko no Koi," whose live-action film starring actors Hiyori Sakurada and Taisei Kido will be released on June 5th; volume 15 of "Saihate no Paladin," which has been adapted into a TV anime; volume 10 of "Heisei Haizanhei Sumire-chan," which features a former unsuccessful idol as the protagonist; and volumes 21 and 22 of "GTO Paradise Lost Kai," a revised and expanded version of the "Paradise Lost Arc" of the "GTO" series, which is also generating buzz for its return as a TV drama after approximately 28 years, written by the author Toru Fujisawa himself.
On May 21st, volume 17 of Daiki Kobayashi's battle manga "Ragna Crimson" will be released, among other things.
On May 22nd, the following manga volumes will be available in stores: Volume 3 of "Everyday Host," a four-panel gag manga depicting the daily life of the host club industry; Volume 12 of "Long Summer on August 31st," which won the Special Jury Prize at the 4th Magazine Academy Awards; Volume 8 of "External Director Shima Kosaku," part of Kenji Hirokane's popular manga series "Shima Kosaku"; Volume 12 of "Night Patrol Cat," featuring a cat named Endo who goes on night patrols as the main character; Volume 19 of "Blue Period," which has been adapted into a TV anime and a live-action film; and Volume 6 of "To Walk Through Space with You," which won the Grand Prize at the Manga Taisho Awards 2024.
