The second episode of the TBS Friday drama "Takusari Brothers," starring actor Masaki Okada and also featuring Shota Sometani, aired on April 24th. The "identity" of the girl who was attacked in front of the Takusari house was revealed, prompting viewers to exclaim, "I knew it!"
◇The following contains spoilers.
The drama follows detective Makoto Tagasari (played by Okada) and medical examiner Minoru (played by Someya) as they investigate heinous crimes that occur daily and pursue the true culprit in the murder of two parents, a case that reached its statute of limitations just two days before the abolition of the statute of limitations. This is the latest work from producer Junko Arai, who has worked on hit crime suspense films such as "Last Mile" and dramas such as "Unnatural," "MIU404," and "Saiai."
In 1995, the parents of Makoto and Minoru were murdered. A young girl (played by Kiara Nakanishi) was found in front of the Tagasari family home, having been attacked by someone who appeared to be the killer. It was later revealed that this girl was Haruko Ashikaga (played by Haruka Igawa), a pawn shop owner and informant.
Haruko, along with Makoto, visited "Mocchan," a local Chinese restaurant run by Koki Mogi (Takashi Yamanaka). There, she reunited with Minoru and Koki after a long time. When Koki commented, "You should have at least contacted me. Your number changed without me noticing," Haruko replied, "But it's all over now. Sixteen years ago today, the statute of limitations on that incident expired."
"I've been searching for that man all this time. Whenever we met, he would always bring up the case. I just wanted him to move on," Haruko revealed, expressing her feelings for her brother. She explained that she had cut off contact with him until now because she thought that seeing her would inevitably remind him of the case.
On social media, comments included: "Ah, so the girl who was stabbed was Haru-chan after all," "I can't quite grasp the relationship between Haruko, these brothers, and Mocchan," "Haruko confronted the culprit head-on, so she must have seen his face. Shouldn't she have immediately known if it was Tsuda (Kazuki Iio)? If she didn't know, maybe he's hiding something," "Is this case 'over' for Haruko?", "It would be amazing if Haruko turned out to be the real culprit," and "Is Haruko acting suspiciously?"
