Former speed skater Nana Takagi recently appeared on ABEMA's live broadcast of the opening round of the All Japan Super Formula Championship, Japan's top-tier formula racing series, and revealed her history of beloved cars.
Takagi describes himself as a "speed freak" and is a car enthusiast, currently driving a white Range Rover Evoque. He said he chose an SUV because he often had to load his road bike onto it for practice and training camps during his active racing career, and he revealed his preference for the automatically retracting door handles, saying, "I thought it was cool."
Takagi revealed her "speed freak" side, saying, "I used to own a British luxury sports car, the Aston Martin DB11, which has a new car price of over 20 million yen. Takagi said, "It's the sound, after all. It makes such a refined sound. Also, I love the acceleration you feel the moment you step on the gas, which is unique to sports cars. I love G (gravitational acceleration), centrifugal force."
Furthermore, she revealed a family anecdote, mentioning that her younger sister, Miho Takagi, drives a Volvo, which further enlivened the studio.
