On April Getsuku, talent Becky appeared at the completion announcement stage greeting for the film "Agito - Superpower War -" (directed by Ryuta Tasaki, opening April 29th) held in Tokyo. She expressed her delight at appearing in a Kamen Rider production, saying, "I now have something to be proud of!"
The film is a commemorative work for the 55th anniversary of Kamen Rider's birth and is the latest theatrical film adaptation of "Kamen Rider Agito" (2001-2002), the second series in the Heisei Kamen Rider series. Jun Kaname, who played Kamen Rider G3/Makoto Hikawa in "Agito," stars in the film, and the original cast, including Toshiki Kashu, who played Kamen Rider Agito/Shoichi Tsugami, reunites. As with the TV series, director Tasaki is at the helm, and Toshiki Inoue is in charge of the screenplay. In a world where people are beginning to awaken to "superpowers" one after another, the film depicts the rampage of those with power and the resolve of those without power.
Becky did not appear in "Kamen Rider Agito," and played Kasumi, a new character introduced in this film. "I am happy to be able to appear in such a big production at the milestone of the 55th anniversary of Kamen Rider's birth and the 25th anniversary of 'Agito'," she said with a smile. Looking out at the fans gathered at the venue, she expressed her gratitude, saying, "I can really feel everyone's enthusiasm, and I am once again grateful to have been included in such an amazing production."
During the talk, she confessed, "I might get scolded for this, but... I only looked at my own part of the script. (After seeing the finished product) I was able to purely enjoy the story a lot (laughs)."
She continued, "Being able to appear in a Kamen Rider movie has given me something to be really proud of. Finally, the kids in my neighborhood will know who I am. They used to look at me in the park and think, 'Who is this flashy old lady?' But now I can proudly say, 'I'm in Kamen Rider!'" she said happily.
Also in attendance at the stage greeting were Kaname, Kashu, Yuchami, Fujita Hitomi, Yamazaki Jun, Shibata Akira, and director Tasaki.
