Actress Akari Takaishi has been appointed as the Japan Ambassador for the French cosmetics brand Lancôme, and attended a press conference held in Tokyo on April 7th to announce her appointment.
Takaishi, who starred in the NHK Asadora drama series "Bakebake" which aired until March, was asked about her new life in April. She said, "I lived in Osaka for a year for the Asadora, and now that filming has finally finished, I feel like I've started a new life. Because I was able to fully dedicate myself to one role and project for a year, I would like to take on completely different roles and projects from now on."
She continued with a smile, "I've always played roles in Meiji-era dramas, so wearing Western clothes is actually quite refreshing. Being able to go out a little during filming also gives me a fresh perspective, so I'm really looking forward to what's to come."
