Yomiuri TV's animation brand "ytv animation" has released a collaboration video between the TV anime "Ascendance of a Bookworm: The Lord's Adopted Daughter" and "Detective Conan." "Ascendance of a Bookworm: The Lord's Adopted Daughter" will air on Yomiuri TV and the Nippon TV network nationwide every Saturday at 5:30 p.m. starting April 4th, and together with "Detective Conan ," which airs every Saturday at 6:00 p.m., Saturday evenings will be an hour of "children in appearance, adults in mind."
In a video featuring Yuka Iguchi, who plays Rosemaine, the protagonist of "Ascendance of a Bookworm: The Lord's Adopted Daughter," and Minami Takayama , who plays Conan Edogawa in " Detective Conan ," Rosemaine boldly declares, "She looks like a child! But she has the mind of an adult!! Her name is... Rosemaine, the Bookworm!" to which Conan is left speechless, saying, "She's quite bold, isn't she..."
"Ascendance of a Bookworm" is a TV anime based on the popular light novel "Ascendance of a Bookworm: I'll Do Anything to Become a Librarian" which is popular on the novel submission site "Shosetsuka ni Narou". The story Shosetsuka ni Naro Motosu, who lives in modern Japan, as she dies on the day she gets her dream job at a library. She then regains consciousness as Myne, a young girl in another world ruled by nobles with magical powers, and struggles to obtain books. "Ascendance of a Bookworm: The Lord's Adopted Daughter" shows Myne choosing to live as Rosemyne, the adopted daughter of a lord, in order to protect her family and friends in the lower town. It will air on Yomiuri TV and Nippon TV nationwide every Saturday at 5:30 PM starting April 4th. It will be broadcast for two consecutive seasons.
"Detective Conan" is a manga series depicting the adventures of Conan Edogawa as he solves a series of difficult cases. It began serialization in "Weekly Shonen Sunday" (Shogakukan) in 1994. The TV anime has been airing since 1996 and celebrated its 30th anniversary this January. The latest theatrical film in the series, the 29th installment, "Detective Conan: Fallen Angel on the Highway," will be released on April 10th.
