It has been announced that the TV anime "Kindergarten WARS," based on the manga by Yuuki Chiba which is serialized on Shueisha's manga app "Shonen Jump+," will begin airing in the spring of 2027. It has also been announced that Hitomi Owada will play Hana, the youngest of the Bradley family of assassins and a junior teacher to Rita in the Dandelion class; Satoshi Hino Mariya Ise will play Silvia, a former courier and teacher in the Chrysanthemum class. A teaser visual has also been released depicting rookie teacher Rita and senior teachers like Doug standing in the playground of Black Kindergarten.
"Kindergarten Wars" is a "violence x romantic comedy" set in a black kindergarten attended by the children of world power brokers such as politicians, CEOs of global corporations, oil tycoons, and Hollywood stars. It began serialization in 2022 after receiving an overwhelming number of votes in the "Shonen Jump+ Serialization Competition Ranking" reader poll on "Jump Rookie!", a manga submission and publication platform operated by the "Shonen Jump+" editorial department. It has gained popularity, with the cumulative circulation of the comic books exceeding 2 million copies.
In the anime, Atsumi Tanezaki voices Rita, a former hitman and kindergarten teacher at the Dandelion Class, while Kentaro Kumagai voices Doug, Rita's senior and a con artist who is also a kindergarten teacher at the Dandelion Class.
