The ninth episode of the TBS Sunday drama "Reboot," starring Ryohei Suzuki, will air on March 22nd (Sundays at 9 PM).
In the previous episode... Ichika (Erika Toda), being chased by Goroku (Yukiya Kitamura), hurries to Hayase Confectionery. She waits for Takumi (Hiroshi Yazaki) to arrive, keeping a watchful eye on her surroundings.
Three years ago, Natsumi (Sayaka Yamaguchi), suspected of stealing 1 billion yen from Goroku, was ordered by Ichika to reboot. Seeing no other way to protect her family, Natsumi followed Ichika's instructions and rebooted.
As Ichika waited for Takumi to arrive, she received a call from Goroku. "You're not accepting defeat easily," Goroku said coldly, and then asked what Ichika should do next. "I won't say anything. I'll die as the culprit who stole 10 billion yen," Ichika replied. "That's just like you, Ichika. It's a shame to lose someone as clever as you."
Amidst all this, Ichika, now a mother, pleaded with tears welling up in her eyes, "But there's just one request. Please let me see Takumi one last time. Just from a distance. Just one glance is all I ask." However, Ichika was already surrounded by Fuyuhashi and his men (played by Ren Nagase)...
Episode 9... The story heads towards its final chapter!
Hayase (Suzuki) rescues Natsumi from Fuyuhashi. However, Natsumi still refuses to accept that she is "Natsumi." To her, Hayase, "as Hayase," as a husband, and as Takumi's father, tearfully expresses his feelings for Natsumi. His regret for not being able to protect her, the fact that he loved her, and his unwavering wish for his family. His sincere words move Natsumi's heart.
Eventually, Natsumi tearfully apologizes and accepts Hayase. To protect their family, they have no choice but to destroy the entire Goroku organization. With a fierce resolve in their hearts, the two declare war on Goroku.
However, immediately afterward, Goroku retaliates cruelly. He sends his henchmen to Hayase Confectionery and takes Takumi hostage. Hayase and Natsumi rush to rescue him, but...
Around that time, Goroku secretly made contact with Yaichi Makita (played by Ichikawa Danjuro). A certain promise was made between the two of them. This promise would escalate this conflict into an even larger and darker underbelly.
Cornered, Hayase visits police officer Makita (Hideaki Ito) and asks for his cooperation. There, he is told the shocking truth that there is a spy for Goroku lurking within the police force. The enemy is not only outside. As each of them begins to move to take down Goroku, Hayase is pushed into a desperate situation.
The script is by Tsutomu Kuroiwa. It's a suspense story in which Riku Hayase, falsely accused of murdering his wife, abandons his family and past to reboot as a corrupt detective, Gido, and pursues the real killer.
