It has been announced that a theatrical compilation film of "Maebashi Witches," an original anime set in Maebashi City, Gunma Prefecture, depicting the growth of five high school students aiming to become witches, will be produced. A special trailer has also been released that looks back on the journey of the "Maebashi Witches"—Yuina, Az, Kyoka, Choco, and Mai—as they face the troubles of others while overcoming their own struggles. The announcement was made on March 21st at the "TV Anime ' Maebashi Witches' New Costume Unveiling Event in Keyaki Walk Maebashi" held in the city.
The series is a coming-of-age story about five high school students in Maebashi City, Gunma Prefecture, depicting the growth of girls who aspire to become witches as they face various challenges. Junichi Yamamoto directed the series, and Erika Yoshida, known for her work on the NHK Asadora drama "The Tiger and Her Wings" and the anime "Bocchi the Rock!", was in charge of series composition and scriptwriting. It was produced by SUNRISE Studios. The TV anime aired from April to June 2025.
The anime-based voice actress idol unit "Maebashi Witches" is also active, and it has been announced that they will hold solo concerts, "' Maebashi Witches' Live STRAIGHT! REACH!! CHEER!!!" on May 24th at Zepp DiverCity Tokyo (Koto Ward, Tokyo) and on May 31st at Zepp Osaka Bayside (Konohana Ward, Osaka).
