"Shinjuku Anison Scope," a column by Sho Higuchi, the anime buyer at Tower Records Shinjuku store, known for its extensive selection of anime songs, shares insights into best-selling anime songs and firsthand accounts from the sales floor. The number one selling item at the store from March Getsuku to 15th was "Ex-Otogibanashi," which includes the theme song and other songs from the anime "Super Princess Kaguya!", which was also released in theaters and became a hot topic. It has been steadily climbing the ranks since its release on January 23rd, and has now reached number one for the first time.
◇Last week's results
"Super Princess Kaguya!" began streaming as a "Netflix movie" on January 22nd, and due to its success, it started theatrical release on February 20th. It has already surpassed 1 billion yen in box office revenue, making it an exceptional hit for a film that was initially released on Netflix. "Ex-Otogibanashi," which took the top spot, includes the theme song by ryo of the creator group "supercell," as well as new remixes of hit songs by ryo himself, such as "World is Mine CPK! Remix" and "Melt CPK! Remix." The CD "CPK! Remix," which includes versions of the newly remixed "World is Mine" and "Melt" sung by Yanagi Nagi and Hatsune Miku, also ranked 9th.
In second place was "WAKE:WOKE/BURN:BORN," the new single from "GKSS," a joint unit formed by "Saint Snow" and "Guilty Kiss," school idol units from the school idol project "Love Live! Sunshine!!!!". In third place was "283 Production MUSICAL Performance Veil of Order - Music Collection," which features songs by "Antica," a unit appearing in the smartphone browser game "THE IDOLM@STER Shiny Colors (Shanimas)."
In fourth place was "Fluorite," the debut album by "HoneyWorks feat. Hakoniwari Lily," a collaboration between the creator unit "HoneyWorks" and "Hakoniwari Lily." Ranked eighth was "Love Live! Sunshine!! Love Live! Sunshine!!. " It contains audio from their "final solo live concert" held in June 2025, where all nine cast members took to the stage together.
Coming in at number 10 was "Yokan no Tochuu Prod. ☆Taku Takahashi (m-flo)," the ending theme for the third season of the TV anime "MF Ghost," sung by Himika Akaneya.
