NHK's history program "History Detective" (NHK General) will air "Sengoku Special: Toyotomi Osaka Castle" on March 18th at 10 PM. The program will recreate the legendary Osaka Castle built by Toyotomi Hideyoshi using VR (virtual reality) and explore its full scope.
The current Osaka Castle was largely built during the Tokugawa period, and its keep was rebuilt in the Showa era. Toyotomi Osaka Castle was four times larger than it is today, and it is said that a magnificent keep adorned with jet black and gold once stood there. Experience the unprecedented scale of its construction and the Battle of Osaka, the final battle of the Sengoku period, in VR. Fully immerse yourself in Hideyoshi's dream castle.
Actor Naoto Takenaka and singer Sayaka Yamamoto will appear as guests on the show that day.
