TBS's travel variety show "Crazy Journey" (Mondays at 10 PM), which had announced the end of its regular broadcast in the golden prime time slot in March, will now air in the late-night slot at 11:56 PM on Mondays starting in April. The first episode after its return to the late-night slot, airing on April 6th, will feature a new segment with Maruyama Gonzalez, who has appeared on the show more times than any other guest.
At the end of the two-hour special on March 16, MC Osamu Shitara of "Banana Man" announced, "We have an important announcement for our viewers! 'Crazy Journey' has been airing for 11 years, but we are moving to a new time slot, and will now air for one hour every Monday at 11:56 PM!"
Eiko Koike, who is also an MC, commented, "I wonder if the fans are relieved!? The show originally aired late at night, so it's nice to see it returning to that time slot." Shitara added, "We will continue to bring you our crazy journey around the world!"
The recording for the first episode of the late-night slot, which took place recently, featured popular travelers such as Maruyama Gonzalez, the journalist specializing in the underworld and the show's most frequent guest, Sato Takeru Satoh, a photographer specializing in bizarre heritage sites, Ota Yuka, a South African government-certified safari guide, and Tanaka Toshiyuki, a researcher of cursed objects. In addition, a new traveler will be introduced, introducing an unknown world such as a collector of torture devices. Koike confessed, "When the show moved to the 10 o'clock time slot, there was more heartwarming content, and I got used to that, so it's tough, mentally, to be back to late-night content after so long (laughs). But it reminded me of what this show is all about."
