On March 15th, the staff and voice actors of the TV anime " Agents of the Four Seasons Dance of Spring, " based on the light novel by Kana Akatsuki, known for " Violet Evergarden " (which was also adapted into an anime), prayed for the success of the series at Hanazono Shrine (Shinjuku Ward, Tokyo). Director Ken Yamamoto, animation producer Sho Otani from WIT STUDIO, Yuka Nukui(voice of Hinagiku Hanaba), Yoshino Aoyama(voice of Sakura Himetaka), Shogo Sakata (voice of Rosei Kantsubaki), and Satoshi Hino(voice of Tocho Kangetsu) participated, with Nukui, Aoyama, Sakata, and Hino each writing their wishes on ema (votive tablets) and offering them at the shrine.
On the same day, a preview screening was held at Shinjuku Wald 9. Ohtani revealed some behind-the-scenes details of the production, saying, "Hinagiku and Sakura are the characters that I want everyone to like the most, so I've been working closely with Director Yamamoto to refine how to incorporate them from the original work."
Nukui said that she sees Hinagiku as a girl who possesses both strength and weakness, and that one of the "important things" to her is Sakura, who is Haru's bodyguard. She added, "When I think about Hinagiku's heart, I also think about Sakura's heart, so I approached the voice recording while considering the hearts of both of them."
Aoyama said, "Sakura is absolutely in love with Hinagiku. I was directed to 'make sure there's a clear difference in how she speaks to the other characters.' I'm also looking forward to seeing how Sakura's love for Hinagiku will be expressed as the episodes progress."
Sakata commented on Wolf Star, saying, "As the winter representative, I think the first impression is that he's cold and cool, but at heart he's very straightforward and passionate. I thought about how he got to where he is now (Wolf Star) after so many years since the events of the past, and I worked on creating the character." He added, "I tried to convey somewhere that he wants to see Hinagiku."
Hino described her first impression of Tocho as "a reliable person who is calm, caring, kind, and strong," and said that Director Yamamoto asked her to "realistically portray the weaknesses and pathetic aspects of Tocho's adult side."
In episode 2, there is a scene where Wolf Star and Frozen Butterfly have a comical exchange, and Hino asks Sakata, "Wolf Star was the most difficult, wasn't he?" Sakata replies, "Yes, at first I was feeling my way around, wondering how far I could deviate from the seriousness, but the director told me, 'It's okay to be more daring.'"
Finally, Nukui said, "As a fan myself, I have been eagerly awaiting this day. We can finally bring you Daisy's Cherry Blossom Front. The world of this work is very warm and beautiful, but there is also something very cruel about it. Nevertheless, I hope you will watch along with us as Daisy and the others choose to live and see how they proceed and what choices they make."
"Agents of the Four Seasons: Dance of Spring" is a story of loss and rebirth for the "Proxys of the Four Seasons," who use special powers bestowed upon them by the gods of the seasons to bring the seasons to various places, and their bodyguards. For ten years, spring has vanished since the disappearance of Hanaba Hinagiku, the Proxy of Spring, and her bodyguard, Himetaka Sakura, has desperately searched for her for ten years, but the story begins when Hinagiku suddenly returns one day. The light novel is published by Dengeki Bunko (KADOKAWA). It will be broadcast on TOKYO MX and other channels starting March 28th.
