A special program looking back on the musical career of Miho Nakayama, who passed away suddenly in December 2014, titled "Miho Nakayama 40th Anniversary - Thank You for the Memories" will be broadcast on Fuji TV from 1:45 a.m. on February 27th.
Since her debut in 1985, Nakayama has continued to grace the stages of music programs with her crystalline presence. We look back on her 40-year musical career through precious archived singing footage from music programs preserved on Fuji TV.
Starting with her debut song "C," which impresses with its cute yet powerful tone, she has released a string of hits as a top idol. The program will also feature rare stage performances from her appearances on the station's music programs "Yoru no Hit Studio" and "FNS Kayosai" in the 1980s, ballads from the 1990s that have grown deeper over the years, and classic songs that have become the theme songs for numerous TV dramas.
The studio will welcome singer-songwriter Mayo Okamoto, who has been a long-time friend of Nakayama through the writing of songs for her, and they will talk about anecdotes from the time of song creation, the behind-the-scenes story of how the masterpiece was born, their fateful private encounter, and Nakayama's true face and charm.
It also showcases highlights from the 34 songs (76 songs including medleys) featured in the Blu-ray box set "Nakayama Miho 40th Anniversary - Thank You for the Memories," which will be released on March 4th to commemorate her 40th anniversary since her debut. While retaining the atmosphere of the time, the latest up-conversion technology has made the footage high-resolution, allowing viewers to enjoy the beautiful, more detailed and clearer high-quality images.
In addition to Okamoto, the station's announcer Mizuki Sano will also appear, and announcer Maiko Saito will serve as the narrator.
