The 104th episode of the NHK Asadora drama "Bakebake " (General TV, Monday to Saturday at 8:00 AM and other times), starring Akari Takaishi , was broadcast on February 26th, and viewers were drawn to Toki's (Takaishi) words and actions.
In episode 104, Ise (Imo Yu) and Mokichi ( Yukito Hidaka), who were brought by Toki, Takeru (Sugita Rairin) and Masaki (Hidaka Yukito), respectively, talk about the legend. However, Heaven (Tommy Bastow), who loves Japan, knows the legend the two are talking about and is upset when his expectations are dashed. While everyone else gives up, Toki asks Ise to tell him the story of how "Ise is cursed."
Ise stubbornly refuses to talk, but finally opens up. When Ise was 10 years old, his parents died of illness one after the other. There was a legend in the village that if two people in a house died within a year, the third would soon follow, and any fourth person onwards would be cursed for the rest of their lives, even if they survived. It was said that this could be avoided by building a small grave called a "doll's grave" and placing a straw doll inside it.
However, Ise and his brother didn't build a doll grave, believing that the story was just superstition. Then his brother passed away, and Ise, who was left behind, hastily built a "doll grave," but it was too late. He fell seriously ill and was on the verge of death, and was stricken with debt. He lived a life that felt like he was cursed, even being kicked out of his house by his relatives, and from then on he began to believe in the legend.
As the room fell silent due to the serious talk, Ise regretted saying, "That's why I didn't want to. If I keep talking like this, it'll sound like this," and tried to leave. Suddenly, Toki quickly sat down where Ise had been sitting. Mokichi worried, "It's still warm... You'll be cursed," and "According to legend, you shouldn't make fun of it," but Toki asserted, "Don't make fun of it... In fact... I believe it!" and happily said, "Being cursed... it's fun... it gives me goosebumps..."
Toki explained her situation, saying, "It's here... I can feel it. Wow, it's so heavy. My head... hurts..." She continued, "I don't know if I'm okay, but... it's fun... Ise... you're unhappy... you've possessed me. From now on, I'm sure... good things will happen. I didn't have any good things happen to me in the past either. But now... there are lots of good things happening!" She smiled. When Ise expressed her gratitude, saying, "Thank you," Toki collapsed on the spot.
Afterwards, Heaven said, "Your story is sad, but... you're wonderful," to which Toki laughed and said, "I just... like to be cursed."
