It has been revealed that actor Sawamura Kazuki will be the chief director of the drama series "Wednesday, Please Embrace My Husband" (TV Tokyo, Wednesdays at 12:30am), which begins on April 1st. Although Sawamura has experience directing short dramas, this is his first time directing a drama series. He commented, "I've been involved with filming locations for around 30 years, but I was surprised at how different the tasks are when you change positions, and it's been a happy time being able to spend every day enjoying all the stimulating experiences. To be honest, I'm quite nervous about showing it to everyone, but I hope as many people as possible will enjoy it."
The story is based on the manga of the same name by Kikuya Kikuko, from U-NEXT's comic label, "U-NEXT Comic." Kobuki Yoko was enjoying a smooth relationship with Kamisu Fumiyuki, the first boyfriend she had ever had in her 29 years of life, until one day Kamisu made a shocking confession: "My wife found out. She wants to see you." Feeling self-loathing for having unintentionally had an affair, Yoko goes to see Kamisu's wife, Rei, to apologize, whereupon Rei asks her, "Would you please continue to have an affair with Fumiyuki every Wednesday...?" This is the story of an infidelity love suspense drama depicting the strange love triangle between Yoko, who continues her "official affair," Rei, whose true feelings are unclear, and Kamisu, who cannot stop cheating.
The cast members for Yoko, Rei, and Kamisu have not been revealed, but only images of each character with their faces hidden by different people, along with a hint comment from director Sawamura, have been released.

I have been given the opportunity to direct a drama that will be broadcast on TV Tokyo late at night on Wednesdays. I am extremely grateful for this opportunity.
I have directed short dramas before, but this will be my first time as a director of a drama series. I have been involved in filming for about 30 years, but I was surprised at how different the tasks are when I change my position, and it was a happy time to be able to spend each day enjoying many stimulating experiences.

This was my first time shooting with her. As expected from someone who sings and dances, her acting is extremely sharp. Personally, I really like her voice.

This is the first time we've worked together. Her dignified presence, strong gaze, and stylish aura that was evident when she beautifully wore the flight attendant uniform in the film at the time of her debut are still as strong as ever, and it's hard to imagine anyone else playing the role of Rei.
