The fifth episode of the TBS Tuesday drama "Mirai no Musuko" (Tuesdays at 10pm), starring actress Shida Mirai, aired on February 10th. The final episode, which hinted at a "farewell", left viewers in a state of turmoil.

Mirai (Shida) realizes that depending on who she ends up with in the present, Souta (Amano Yu) may never be born in the "future." However, she still doesn't know who "Ma-kun" is. "The year 2026, when I met Souta and played the lead role for the first time (in a theater production), was so much fun. But I didn't realize that my separation from Souta was slowly approaching," Mirai says in a monologue, creating an uneasy atmosphere.
During a severe thunderstorm, Kei (Mamoru Hagiwara), a neighbor in the apartment who keeps Souta's smartwatch "Luna," suddenly hears a voice and is shocked. The caller is Luna.
"Hello, can you hear me? Are you... 26...?" a voice mixed with static asked, to which Kei hurriedly replied. The broadcast ended with Luna saying, "This is Shiokawa Mirai from the 'future'."
The next episode, episode 6, will air on February 24th, and comments such as "Future Son is on a break next week. I'm so curious about what happens next," "I can't wait for next week to be on a break. There's a certain ominous atmosphere... what's going to happen to Souta?" and "The ending is a bit ominous and scary. I hope everyone is happy" were spreading on social media.
