The car-loving comedy duo "Ogiyahagi" delves into the "car histories" of their guests on "Ogiyahagi's Car History NO CAR, NO LIFE!" (BS Nippon TV). The broadcast on February 21st at 9:24pm will be titled "2-Hour Special! The Famous Japanese Cars Loved by Kume Hiroshi!" and will be the first 2-hour special of the program since it aired on February 19th, 2016, as a tribute to the late Kume Hiroshi.
Kume-san has loved engines since he was a child, and during his student days he would always work part-time jobs that allowed him to drive a car. He talks about his unique part-time job experience in a memorable Midget, and the Datsun Bluebird SSS that he had always dreamed of owning.
He is drawn to the charm of American cars, such as the classic MGA1600, which holds fond memories for him and Tetsuko Kuroyanagi, and the Chevrolet MONZA. He looks back on his car history and youth, along with time-honored programs such as "The Best Ten" and "News Station." The reason why Kume is so in love with the Subaru cars he continues to drive is also revealed.
The producer at the time commented, "When we decided to hold our first two-hour special program after 160 episodes of the program, it was the staff's wish since the program's launch to have Kume-san as a guest, and this was a long-awaited offer."
