What was the scene that most captivated viewers in the 92nd episode (aired February 10th) of the NHK morning drama "Bakeke" (General TV, Monday-Saturday 8:00 AM and other times), starring actress Takaishi Akari? When we looked at minute-by-minute trends in "attention level" (surveyed by REVISIO, Kanto region, preliminary figures), which indicates the percentage of viewers glued to the screen, the peak was 63.0% at 8:03 AM.
"Bakeke" is the 113th morning drama. The heroine, Toki Matsuno, and her husband, Lefkada Heaven, are based on Setsu Koizumi, the daughter of a fallen samurai from Matsue, and Lafcadio Hearn (Koizumi Yakumo), known for his works such as "Kwaidan." The drama boldly reconstructs the characters, changing some of the names of characters and organizations to create a fictionalized portrayal.
◇The highest point was at 8:03 a.m. "The Last Samurai" Kan'emon appeared
In episode 92, Nishikori (Ryo Yoshizawa) is determined to become the principal of Matsue Junior High School and promote education in Shimane with Heaven, but Heaven (Tommy Bastow) tells Tae (Keiko Kitagawa) and Kan'emon (Fumiyo Kohinata) that he is going to Kumamoto and begins preparations. Nishikori then finally learns from Eto (Shiro Sano) that Heaven will be leaving Matsue.
The "attention level," which indicates the percentage of viewers watching the TV intently, fluctuated slightly from around 8:03 a.m. until the end of the show, but remained fairly stable. The highest level of the day was 63.0%, recorded at 8:03 a.m., shortly after the opening.
At 8:03 AM, Toki and Heaven were leaving for the Ameshimizu residence where Tae lives. Kan'emon had already arrived, waiting for them. Seeing his granddaughter for the first time in a long time, Kan'emon greeted Toki with a beaming smile. In fact, Kan'emon, the "Last Samurai," is a popular character who always draws attention whenever he appears. Kan'emon hadn't appeared in a while, so viewers were no doubt welcoming him with beaming smiles as if to say, "We've been waiting for this!" Even without brandishing a sword, his popularity remains unchanged, and on this day, Kan'emon's appearance scene drew the most attention.
Nishikori shocked by his move to Kumamoto, but his popularity is not increasing.
The next most popular episode was at 8:08 AM, with 62.4% of viewers. When Toki and Heaven return from the Ameshimizu residence, Tsukasa (Takashi Okabe) is pickling under the supervision of Fumi (Chizuru Ikewaki). As the family continues their harmonious conversation about why Tsukasa, the head of the Matsuno family, is pickling, Tsukasa casually says, "We're fine with it." This seems to mean they agree to the trip to Kumamoto. While Toki is opposed, the other family members agree one by one, and the moat is being filled in.
Incidentally, Nishikori heard from Governor Eto that Heaven was going to Kumamoto in the late 8:11 AM hour. From 8:12 AM onwards, Nishikori rushed to Heaven and asked him, "What is the real reason?" Attention levels rose slightly between 8:11 AM and 8:12 AM, but remained flat at around 60% until the end, with almost no increase.
The data used is REVISIO's proprietary indicator "Attention Level" (Kanto region, preliminary figures) published by the company that surveys TV program and commercial viewing habits in 2,000 households in the Kanto region and 600 households in the Kansai region. A dedicated device equipped with a human body recognition sensor constantly measures whether people are looking at the TV screen, and calculates the percentage of people in front of the TV who are paying close attention to the program.
