Actor Ryoko Yonekura appeared at the preview screening of her starring Prime Original film "Angel Flight THE MOVIE" (directed by Kentaro Horikirizono, streaming worldwide exclusively on Prime Video from February 13th), held in Tokyo on February 10th. Yonekura greeted the audience nervously in a pants and jacket set with sneakers. Her co-star Kenichi Endo, who was sitting next to her, looked worried, and when it was his turn to greet the audience, he grabbed Yonekura's hand and raised it, saying, "Ryoko-chan, I'm fine!" Yonekura shed tears.
This film is a sequel to the moving human drama "Angel Flight: International Funeral Home Specialist," starring Yonekura, which was released on Prime Video in March 2023 and aired on NHK General TV from May last year.
The film is based on the novel "Angel Flight: International Funeral Repatriation Specialist" by Ryoko Sasa, winner of the 10th Kaiko Takeshi Non-Fiction Award. It depicts the inspiring work of international funeral repatriation specialists, who transport the bodies of Japanese people who have died overseas back to Japan and foreigners who have died in Japan back to their home countries. Yonekura plays Izawa Nami, the powerful president of Angel Hearth, a small company with an office in Haneda Airport.
In addition to Yonekura and Endo, Matsumoto Honoka, Shirota Yu, Yamoto Yuma, Noro Kayo, and Tokui Yu also appeared at the event.
