It has been announced that the manga "Great Sage Riddle's Time Reverse" from Shogakukan's manga label "Seed Comics" will be adapted into a TV anime and will begin airing on TV Kanagawa from April 1st. The fantasy story follows the protagonist Riddle, who travels back 1000 years in time to stop the world from collapsing due to a mysterious group called the Malice Box, and struggles to save the world. It is available to download at various e-book stores. It has also been announced that Junya Enoki, who plays the protagonist Riddle, and Azusa Tadokoro, who plays the heroine Norn, will appear in the anime.
This will be the first time a Seed Comics serialized work has been adapted for the screen. It will be made into a film using Dai Nippon Printing Co., Ltd.'s (DNP) unique light animation method, which converts manga manuscripts directly into animation.
Nekoko, who is working on the original scenario, commented, "This will be a light anime about the time-reversal of Great Sage Riddle! Light anime is a culture I'm not very familiar with, so I was a little worried, but when I was shown the in-production video, I was drawn in by the movements and acting, as well as Asaka's mysterious and stylish theme song, and I felt that the world of the work had become much deeper. Please look forward to the light anime version of Riddle in action!"
Futaka Ichi, who is in charge of the composition and line art of the original work, said, "I saw a little bit of the footage, and it was amazing to see the characters I drew moving and talking, which made me incredibly happy! The cast of voice actors was so amazing, and the grandiose and cool theme song was a perfect fit for the work, and I was overwhelmed that Riddle has spread so much. I'm truly grateful to everyone involved and to all the readers. Whether you've read the original work before or it's your first time, I hope you'll look forward to the anime!"
Enoki, who plays Riddle, commented, "When I was doing the dubbing, all of my co-stars were people I've been friends with for a long time, so I think I was able to relax and give some interesting performances. Thank you for your support!"
Tadokoro, who plays Norn, said, "I am very honored to be able to play Norn. I think Norn's existence is a source of hope and anguish for Riddle, but at the same time, it is also a source of suffering. I tried to play the role while being conscious of her cheerfulness and inner strength, and also valuing her relationship with Riddle. Please be sure to watch!"
