A new visual has been released for the theatrical version of the TV anime "My Dangerous Wife," based on the popular manga by Norio Sakurai that is currently being serialized on Akita Shoten's manga site, Manga Cross. The visual depicts a live performance by the band "Primary COLOR," whose vocalist and guitarist is Kana Ichikawa, the older sister of the main character Kyotaro Ichikawa and affectionately known as "Onee." The visual is accompanied by the tagline, "The world is constantly changing."
Yukari Tamura, who plays the role of "Onee-san," commented, "BokuYaba is in the theater! The love story of these two is in the theater! Onee-san's live performance scene is in the theater! You can see it!! I'm so happy to be able to participate this time again. I hope you'll watch the heart-warming, ticklish story of these two, which continues from the TV series, with a smile on your face. And please enjoy the continuation of Onee-san's band's live performance scene!"
It was also announced that the first special gift for attendees will be a manga drawn by the original author Sakurai, which will be distributed from February 13th. It will reveal Yamada's childhood and what led him to enter the entertainment industry. A manga drawn by the spin-off "My Dangerous Girlfriend: A Love Comedy Won't Begin" will also be included.
The film will be made up of re-edited footage from the TV anime, as well as brand new footage of what happened after the second season and that moment between Ichikawa and Yamada. It will be released on February 13th.
"My Dangerous Wife" began serialization in Weekly Shonen Champion (Akita Shoten) in 2018 and is currently being serialized in Champion Cross (same publisher). It's a youthful romantic comedy about Kyotaro Ichikawa, a nerdy boy with a chunibyo syndrome, and Anna Yamada, a beautiful, outgoing girl at the top of the school's social hierarchy. It's gained popularity, ranking in the "This Manga is Amazing!" men's edition for two consecutive years in 2020 and 2021, and winning first place in the web manga category of the Next Manga Awards 2020 in 2020. The manga has sold over 7 million copies. The first season of the TV anime aired from April to June 2023, and the second season aired from January to March 2024 on TV Asahi's late-night anime block "NUMAnimation."
