A special trailer for the animated feature film "Kusunoki no Bannin," based on a novel by Keigo Higashino, has been released. It features Masakazu Yanagisawa, played by Takehito Koyasu, and the original character of the anime, Konohazuku.
Masakazu Yanagisawa is a cousin of the protagonist, Reito Naoi's aunt, Chishu Yanagisawa, who told him that he would become the "Guardian of the Camphor Tree." The video includes a scene in which Masakazu asks Reito, who has become the Guardian of the Camphor Tree, if he is prepared to stand at a crossroads in his life. "How will you decide?" is an impressive scene in which his powerful voice resonates.
The Scops Owl, who does not appear in the original work, is a character who becomes Reito's partner, and the two meet in the forest of Tsukigo Shrine. Reito cannot leave the Scops Owl, with its adorable big eyes and brown feathers, alone, and ends up taking it under his protection. As Reito struggles to guard the camphor tree, the owl watches over him from behind with teary eyes, and they develop a supportive relationship.
"Guardian of the Camphor Tree" tells the story of a young man, Naoi Reito, who loses his job due to unreasonable dismissal and becomes the mysterious "Guardian of the Camphor Tree," where he meets people with various circumstances. This is the first time that Higashino's work has been adapted into an anime, and voice actors such as Takahashi Fumiya, Amami Yuki, Saito Asuka, Miyase Ryuya, and Osawa Takao appear in the film.
It was released on January 30th and recorded a box office revenue of approximately 125 million yen in three days. It got off to a good start, ranking third in the movie attendance rankings from January 30th to February 1st (according to the Box Office Information Company).
