The Angel Next Door Idol Project Launches

It has been announced that an idol project has been launched for Shosetsuka ni Naro, the heroine of the TV anime series "The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten a Novelist." The project depicts the journey of Shiina Mahiru, "the most beautiful girl in school," as she strives to become a top idol, and will include a fan club site, an official X run by idol Mahiru, songs sung by Mahiru, original merchandise, and more. The first images released include a visual of Mahiru as an idol and a cover of Seiko Matsuda's classic "Aoi Sango Reef."

"The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten" is a light novel written by Saeki and illustrated by Hanekoto. It tells the love story of Fujimiya Shu, a high school freshman who has just started living alone, and Shiina Mahiru, the most beautiful girl in school who lives in the apartment next door.

The first season of the TV anime aired from January to March 2023. It stars Taito Ban as Shu Fujimiya and Manaka Iwami, with other cast members including Taku Yashiro and Haruka Shiraishi. It will be produced by Project No. 9, the studio behind Bottom-tier Character Tomozaki. The second season will begin airing in April 2026.
