A stage greeting event celebrating the screening of the sixth chapter, "The Blue Labyrinth," of " Be Forever Yamato: Rebel 3199, " the latest installment in the remake series of the popular anime " Space Battleship Yamato ," was held on June 28th at Shinjuku Piccadilly (Shinjuku Ward, Tokyo). Daisuke Ono, who plays Daisuke Ono, and director Harutoshi Fukui were among those in attendance. Ono said he felt "family love" and "human bonds" in the sixth chapter, and revealed, "I sent my mom a LINE message saying, 'Watch the sixth chapter!'"
In Chapter Six, Kodai takes the captain's seat on the Yamato. Ono said he put his heart into the role, saying, "He's calmer and more composed than before. He's able to take a bird's-eye view and watch over the younger generation. The younger generation is too energetic! Especially Domon!! I'm not a young actor myself, so I approached the role thinking, 'Is there something I can do now that I am?'"
The interactions between Sasha and Kodai are also one of the highlights. Ono recalled, "Looking back to the beginning, I remember questioning Fukui about why he couldn't warmly welcome Sasha!" Fukui explained, "If he had hugged Sasha tightly at that point, he wouldn't have been able to let go. At that time, Kodai's mind was a mess. He couldn't take responsibility, so he took a step back."
Ono said thoughtfully, "I told Sasha, 'Tell me if you're having a hard time,' and 'We're family.' Those words really resonated with me. Now, finally, I understand the true meaning of Fukui's words."
"Yamato 3199" is a reinterpretation of "Be Forever Yamato" and "Space Battleship Yamato III," with a new interpretation added. The final chapter, Chapter Seven, "Rainbow-Colored Reincarnation," will be screened from October 30th. Finally, Ono appealed, "Because there is Chapter Six, we can all move forward together. That is a hopeful future. I love Yamato. I hope you will spread the word to many people."
Also appearing on stage for the greetings were Makoto Furukawa Megumi Han , who plays Alphonse, and Eriko Nakamura, who plays Mikage Kiryu.
